Transmission Servicing
Automatic Transmission servicing will help extending the life of your transmission and in most cases provide smoother gear changes. Automatic transmissions need flushing & servicing every two years or 40,000kms. If you often use your vehicle to tow or carry heavy loads then the service should be carried out more often as this can cause early transmission failure.
Brakes
Living in Dunedin we are more susceptible to premature or regular brake issues than most centres around NZ. Warning signs of brake issues may include brake squeal, brakes pulling to one side, shuddering steering wheel when applying the brakes or a warning light may appear on your dash panel.
Cambelt / Timing belt
A timing belt is located in the front of your engine and it’s job is to ensure your engine’s valves remain in sync/time with the rest of your engine. The belt is normally fully enclosed by plastic covers to prevent stones or other foreign objects causing problems. Timing belt failure can have catastrophic results so should be replaced as per manufacturers specification.
Car Air-Conditioning
Your cars air condition system while providing an excellent ability to keep you cool on hot days and keep the moisture off your windscreen requires much more maintenance than most realise. The gas required to ensure your air condition system operates efficiently requires regular refilling to ensure it operates effectively.
Car Battery

Clutch
All vehicles with a manual gearbox will require maintenance and possible repair to their clutch at some stage. Maintenance can be as simple as a minor adjustment or replacement of the hydraulic fluid. Clutch failure is a very common cause of mechanical failure particularly in the hilly environment of Dunedin.

Radiator Repairs and Radiator Flush
A Radiator cools the liquid that in turns cools your engine, thereby maintaining the correct operating temperature. A Radiator has a large surface area of thin fins for the liquid to pass though, over time these can be damaged by stones, filled with dirt and bugs or the plastic tanks attached to most radiators these days can crack with the constant heating and cooling during normal use It is important that the correct mixture of coolant to water is used, to little or too much can be a bad thing for your engine.
